Street Photos in India
Almost every kid I encountered, particularly in more populated areas - which was pretty much everywhere, wanted their photo taken. "Photo, photo!" they would shout at me.
This was back in the 1980s with film.
I was sort of new to the game of photography at this level.
Thus, I really didn't take enough film.
But I did get lots of portraits of these young people.
And people in general.
Sadly though, I took the negatives to a one hour photo kiosk.
As a result the negs were not processed properly and started to deteriorate very quickly. More recently technology has advance to the point where I can restore images in a way that make them look, well, not plastic.
I quite liked the trip. I was visiting my father, who was, at the time a doctor in a place called Vridaban.
Near Mathura, about a hundred miles south of Delhi.
The photos here are a few of which I managed to do a bit of editing.
You've never seen such a bunch of happy children. Not everyone is smiling, of course. But, like anywhere, you start talking to them, they brighten right up.
These are incredible. Clear and there’s no sign of age decay.
