Cowboy Zen

Real cowboys doing what real cowboys do.  I’ve posted elsewhere about this day.  I was invited by a friend to a ranch in Southern Alberta for the day.  To photograph a cattle branding. 

These men and women, some barely in their teens, were completely in the moment.  Focused on each other and what they were doing.  Not a cell phone in sight. 

They would kid around but never to the detriment of what needed to be done or to interfere with another. 

Was like watching a pro basketball player at the top of his game or a race car driver floating around the track.  That kind of calmness and expertise. 

I truly hope that the photos convey some of what I experienced that day.
