4 out of 5 stars Nice product   July 15, 2008

I waited a while after purchasing this product before writing my review because I wanted to have time to check out all of the components of the program. I've used Adobe Photoshop for a long time at my job and love it. When it came time to buy a photo editing program for my personal use at home, I couldn't justify the cost of the Adobe programs. After researching and comparing features of the available photo editing programs and reading numerous product reviews, I decided to purchase PSP Photo X2. So far, I'm happy with it and have been able to easily reproduce many of the photo effects I've used in Adobe. I did have a problem with installation, but once I went to the Corel website and made the suggested changes, it installed without a hitch. Overall, I find it about the same to use as Adobe and I much prefer the price of X2! Adobe Photoshop Elements is a good program for anyone wanting to do simple photo edits, but it lacks many of the in-depth features that are included in the pricier versions of Adobe and in this version of X2.

I have used PSP many times before, but this new photo version is the best...I kept my older version simply because this version doesn't come with the animation stuff.
I would definetly purchase it again if I had to.

4 out of 5 stars The best photograph edit software I have ever used.   May 24, 2008

It really comes down to this; Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 provides so much for such a reasonable price. I have nothing but exultation for this software; I still have a lot to learn but the software provides for the things that I know now and the things that I will learn and love to use.

Before purchasing Pain Shop Pro Photo X2 I actually downloaded a trial version of Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 and Photo Shop Elements. (Each of the versions offer a free trial downloadable version from their respective websites. A great thing if you just can't decide without trying them out first.) After experiencing both of them and playing with the features for a month or so; I decided the better software and better fit for me was Paint Shop. The layout was easier to get around and to learn. The effects and photo fixes were better. The options were much more varied.

Very good software and a great option for those willing to invest in a great piece of software.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Have Item for ALL Photographers   May 17, 2008

This is the coolest product I've ever owned. I'm old school and cut my teeth on physical film, photographic paper, and chemicals in a literal "darkroom". But living in a small apartment having a "real" darkroom is impossible for me. With Corel's Paint Shop Pro PHOTO X2 it allows me to do anything I could do in a darkroom, all in the comfort of a well lit room on my computer, without the smell and possible allergic reactions from chemicals. You gotta get this program; it would be a bargin at twice the price...and with free shipping from Amazon there is no excuse to pass this up.

Pair this up with Canon's PowerShot SX100IS like I did, and the sky's the limit for all the creative possibilities!
