Incredible pictures November 22, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I debated between the Nikon D60 and an Olympus. I am quite pleased with my choice of the D60. My past experience with Nikon SLR film cameras and the quality of Nikon was the deciding factor. Having experienced poor results with a high dollar Sony digital camera someone gave me, I knew I needed quality I trusted, like Nikon or Olympus, not just a price tag. I considered the D80 and D90, but chose the D60 for its simplicity and its light weight compared to the 80 and 90. Amazon service and pricing, plus the large number of sellers that promote accessories on Amazon was also important to me. It really cut the time involved in finding "add-ons" for my digital camera. By investigating items offered on Amazon and eBay, I have saved a significant amount of money in building my Nikon arsenal.
Great camera for the price. November 2, 2008 If you only have 600$ (I got mine for 564$) to spend I believe that this is the camera for you. Takes some awesome pictures right out of the box (provided you have a memory card). The modes on this thing are amazing - although I find myself sticking mostly to shutter and manual modes (having come from a film camera background). Prepare to be amazed at the ease of use and the freedom to carry this unit anywhere it's overall size and weight are both big enough to hold easily and light enough to bring with you anytime. If you're a casual picture taker or semi-professional - this is a great unit and you can save enough to warrant getting a lens upgrade or a flash. I enjoy this camera daily and hope that you will too.
Nice DSLF November 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I originally had a D90 - which is one heck of a camera, but it is about twice the price of the D60.
The D60, though a smaller body, provides excellent photos.
The D60 has fewer features than the D90 - such as a maximum ISO of 1600, but this camera is feature rich for the price.
This is my first DSLR as I had previously used print Canon's.
The D60 works well in low light situations - for example shooting indoors without a flash.
This camera offers good value and performance - I am very happy with this unit.
Nikon D60 w/18-55 lens October 30, 2008 Excellent camera. I am very satisfied with the versatility and resolution. For the money this camera has the necessary 10.2MP to provide professional pictures. Highly recommended. The Nikon support is par excellence. Technical help is available for questions that are unavailable in the manual.
great camera by all means October 30, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
i got it from amazon, well i think amazon is the best place to buy from, fast shipping, on time and very good after sale service. the camera is great as an entry dslr, its fast, gives accurate photos even in low light condition. other advantage is the in camera editing and repair. its light weight compared by other competators. first i was confused between the canon rebel xsi and the d60. when i held them both in my hand i found the nikon more freindly and the color the nikon gives is out of the canon's reach. this is a great camera. thank you amazon
