I purchased the Gorillapod for my husband. He loves to take pictures at slower shutter speeds to absorb natural light rather than use the flash. Often a tripod is necessary and cumbersome to have with him. The Gorrillapod fits right into his camera bag and is available at all times. It is great to use table top for group pictures and offers the flexibility to take pictures from peculiar angles. At first he thought the thing looked odd (he said it looks like one of the Aliens from War of the Worlds) but he has grown to truly appreciate it.

The Gorillapod works very well with my small digital camera. It is small and light enough that I can carry it with me everywhere. Now, by using the timer feature of the camera, I can get in the picture too. I have wrapped it around poles, chair backs, car parts and even door knobs as well as sticking it in the sand at the beach. I have purchased two more Gorillapods to give as gifts and one of the people I gave it to liked it so much she bought one for her husband too.

This thing works. It will support even older, heavier cameras and takes all the irritation of either propping a camera up on sticks and stones or using a mini-tripod which is not adaptable to many outdoor circumstances. It can be wadded up to be about the size of a tennis ball (no sharp edges either). Furthermore -- it's not expensive. A great gift for yourself or anyone with a digital camera.

My daughter was thrilled with this product - my only regret was that I did not purchase it (or know about it) until after her trip to Italy (where I know it would have come in handy). She loves to take pictures and this will be a great help to her.

I've needed a portable and "flexible" tripod for a very long time now. It's so hard to carry around one of those colapsable metal ones and they're not very sturdy. you can shape your gorilla anyway you want on any surface without having to worry about your expensive equipment. I gave a few of these as a gift during xmas and own one of my own. Our friends will come over and think it's a massager of some sort but when I tell them what it is, they automatically want one!!!
