5 out of 5 stars The Giottos AA 1900 Really Blows. Why Buy It?   September 8, 2008

This product really blows. So why buy it then? Because blowing is what this product was made to do and it does the job extremely well. The Giotto's AA 1900 Super Rocket-Air Blower is probably the best handheld blower that doesn't need a power source other than your own hand. It is an excellent cleaning accessory for digital SLR camera owners and offers tremendous value compared to more expensive cleaning products. Although the Super Rocket-Air Blower (Rocket Blaster) is a popular item to use with photo and video equipment, it can also be used on computers, consumer electronics, musical instruments, and anything else where a handy blower may be useful.

For a cheap but highly effective way to clean the interior of a digital SLR camera, simply activate your camera's mirror lockup feature, remove the lens, hold the camera body facing downward to let gravity assist, then use the Super Rocket-Air Blower to blow several air blasts upward into the camera's interior. Do you have annoying sensor dust? The Super Rocket-Air Blower may likely remove the dust 90 percent of the time. Only the most stubborn or stuck-on dust particles would require more expensive cleaning methods. Just make sure that the blower's nozzle never physically touches anything inside your camera especially the low-pass filter that protects the actual image sensor. I also recommend using the blower on the front and back of your lenses. A lot of the dust that could make its way to your sensor comes from the back of your lens.

A handheld blower is a safer alternative to cans of compressed air. You should never use compressed air inside cameras or on lenses as it can leave unwanted residue that is very harmful.

There are various Super Rocket-Air Blower models that Giotto's produces. How powerful is the AA 1900 model? Compared to a Jumbo Hurricane Blower that I bought at Wolf Camera, the AA 1900 has more kick. If you are an SLR camera owner, I recommend only the AA 1900 as it is powerful and perfect for cameras and lenses.

Some people might find this product too bulky for easy portability. The AA 1900 is 190mm in height, 60mm in diameter, and weighs 90g. But if you can find a convenient way to take it with you, this could be the best blower to take everywhere when you need it. The free-standing base helps keep the blower upright on a desk or table without rolling around. This product is made of durable rubber material and I am confident that it will last for many years. The Giotto's AA 1900 Super Rocket-Air Blower is a must-have for all photographers and I would highly recommend it to a friend.

1 out of 5 stars Too Weak for Any Use   August 6, 2008

This bulb blower is extremely weak. I could blow air out of my mouth stronger than it. I can't use it for my computer or my camera. It's just a funky desk ornament at this point. Don't waste your money.

5 out of 5 stars OMGosh, I love this rocket!   July 27, 2008
Yes, Yes, Yes!!! It does what it does. It's really does blast the dust of off lenses and sensors. If you are wondering, the rocket blaster is made of thick rubber with a non-removable air snoot (I didn't know what else to call it). There are also different sizes, which only means that the larger the bulb, the more air and thrust is projected. I always have this with me at all times since it's necessary to be a clean photographer.

5 out of 5 stars Must have   July 17, 2008
A blower is the only tool I'd trust myself to use on the inside of my camera which is why I called it a "must have".
I actually prefer my BRUSH for the outside of the camera and the lens, because it takes up less space and works better (had one for years).

PS [camera manual says to use a blower].
