great accessory May 31, 2008 I had one for my Canon 10d so got one when I upgraded to the Canon 40d. I think it helps a lot to balance out the weight of the heavier lenses and is easier to grip than just the camera.
Perfect. May 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've heard they come loose. Mine never has. I've heard they "flex" between the grip and body. Mine doesn't. I've heard the battery tray is flimsy. Mine...well, it's never broken, but yeah, I guess it feels pretty flimsy. We'll see.
It is kinda ugly, though. Kind of an "afterthought" vibe to it. Whatever.
I've also heard it's good for people with large hands. Tell you what - I have small hands, and I have always used battery grips or grip extenders: they balance out bigger camera bodies and make them easier to manipulate...for me, anyway. On the other hand, my wife has small hands too. She says this thing makes my camera feel like a big old Buick. That's why she got a Rebel xti for Mother's Day.
Still my favorite accessory. Highly recommended.
As Stated by other Poster, Excellent for Big Hands May 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I happen to have large hands and have been prone to camera shake with many cameras in my life. The battery grips dating back to mechanical analog times have always been helpful. Especially with the lightweight cameras of today, it is essential for that extra weight stabilization, grip, and battery life!
Highly recommended for those with larger hands. Not so recommended for those that want a more stealth look to their setup.
Good Grip May 22, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This Grip goes well with the 40D. I have bigger hands, and this grip helps the camera be more stable. It is of course a little heavier, but, it gives me a work out, so, it's not a big deal :).
Nice to have May 19, 2008 As I was reading the reviews for the battery grips, I was wondering which one to buy and even why buying one. Let's start with which one. I haven't tested any other, but let me tell you this fulfills my expectations. I always like buying the original one, as it's meant to cover all aspects of the original design. This one does. It even includes a small space to keep the original battery door, so you won't lose it. Big plus, the AA battery cartridge that allows you to buy regular batteries, when running out of power on the two ones included. Why, because it complements the body. If you have big hands, it helps support the hand. It helps and simplifies taking pictures when turning it around. It replicates the buttons you use most frequently. Compared to other generic versions, it has few settings, but just about the needed one. In plain words, if you are planning on spending some extra bucks, worth spending them on this one. Saludos, Willy
