This is optional, if you don't use the camera for long. Please give the second though before you buy it. otherwise, very nice!

Feedback about product - can this be passed to Canon?
The battery grip could be improved by adding weather seal
to protect the electrical contacts.

It's built well and it gives your camera a bigger base to hold on to. I try to buy Canon stuff for my Canon 40D because while it's usually overpriced, it's built well. I haven't been in a situation yet where I need that much battery but it's better to have and not to want than to want and not to have.

This is a great addition to my canon 30D. If you travel or prepare for a photo trip especially to country area, this is a must.
