A great product May 27, 2008 a great product wireless and blue tooth excellent would recommend it to other potential customers
Love it May 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
What I love about this iPaq is that it is a basic organizer. I am not a high powered business person who lives and dies by this product. I use mine to remind me of my dr appts, birthdays, anniversaries... just everyday things. I like the contact list and the ease of its use. I would recommend it to the novice.
HP iPAC Classic 110 May 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is just what I needed. As a busy mom with a hectic schedule, I wanted this PDA mainly to get rid of my large daily planner. It is very light and compact.
The only con I have is that it would have been helpful to know that I needed OUTLOOK in order to sync with the PDA. I had to purchase this after I received the PDA (as my computer has only OUTLOOK EXPRESS.)
Oh, and the PDA that I received is the 110 model, not the 111.
Defective USB Cable May 13, 2008 After working for an hour trying to sync the iPAQ with my PC I determined that the supplied USB cable was defective. The cable charged the unit just fine but did not function properly for communication. The iPAQ functioned perfectly after using a different USB cable (note: there is an April 2008 firmware update for this unit).
The use of ActiveSync and Outlook for this unit is troublesome since both of these programs are typical MS bloatware. A thin sync client and contact manager would be preferred.
Other than the problem(s) above, this unit is a slick and easy to use PDA with all the basic functions of a PDA with extras such as Wi-Fi.
If you are having trouble syncing or charging this unit, change the USB cable.
Best PDA I've tried May 9, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received the iPAQ 111 two weeks ago. I will be leading a team of engineering students on a humanitarian trip to rural Africa next month. Students will be performing a variety of tasks, and the Task and Calendar features are exactly what I need. We will be spending thousands of dollars in cash (no credit card accessibility) and we can keep a running account and projection of expenses vs. budget using Excel. Each purchase can be entered at the time it occurs. The final report can be written in sections during the trip using Word. Best of all, the Transcriber feature is fantastic. It recognizes my handwriting very accurately, and I can enter information almost as fast on the iPAQ as on my PC keyboard. I did turn off button 4 so that I wouldn't activate it with my little finger when I'm transcribing. The Wi-Fi works well. My contacts synchronized seamlessly once I downloaded WMDC from Microsoft (I have Vista on my PC). So far battery life is very good, but I'm not playing music. I have tried Palm devices in stores and they do not come close to matching the iPAQ for convenience and the features that I need.
