Love this product! June 18, 2008 Wow, I LOVE this! It's my first photo frame, and I think it's great! The clarity is wonderful, and it's super-convenient and fun to share pics with family and friends -- Because of the internal rechargeable battery, no cord is required, so I can just carry it around with me and show off my pics of family and garden to whoever I want.
My only minor complaints are about the software -- First, it's not self-evident how to copy the pics from PC to frame -- It takes a little figuring out -- Some simple directions (either printed or on the CD-ROM) would really be nice. (Fortunately, Philips has great product support.) Accessing individual photos from the thumbnail menu on the frame is a little slow, and it's tricky at first to manipulate the tiny buttons on the back while looking at the frame from the front to see what you're doing. (However, I know that buttons on the back are much better aesthetically than on the front of the frame.) And it would be nice to have an option to pause the slide-show if you want to look longer at one pic, and then immediately return to the slide show (they way you can in a Windows slide-show). Finally, it would be GREAT to have a removeable battery, so that it could be replaced when it dies.
But those are relatively minor complaints -- I think the frame is really wonderful, and everyone I show it to "oos and aahs" over it -- My hairdresser is ordering one for herself! And this is the only digital frame I've found which has an battery option -- I definitely recommend this!
Amazing Digital Picture Frame June 14, 2008 This is the third Phillips digital picture frame I have ordered. All perform excellently with no issues. The picture quality is perfect. This is a superb product if you are looking for a digital frame. I have used other brands and they always have issues or problems. Also I now always order these from Amazon due to the product, price, and great customer service.
Good digital photo frame June 12, 2008 After comparing similar digital photo frames on Amazon I went with this one. It looks great and I haven't had the same issues as other folks have reported with memory card size. I did encounter an issue with the pic size and how the frame adjusts for it.
If you take your time and work with the photos then the pic display is awesome. Using a 2 GB sd card I have more space then pics so far, but that will change! I've left my on in my bedroom and the light it displays doesn't wake me up, but make sure its not in your line of sight as the lighting of different pics could rouse you.
Good frame without bells and whistles June 12, 2008 I like this frame because it just does what I want a digital photo frame to do, which is to be attractive and show good quality photographs! It doesn't play music or videos, or have a remote, or offer wireless connectivity, all of which I think are unnecessary. A photo frame is not supposed to occupy all of your attention for hours at a time! It's a decoration! That said, I only give it four stars because the manual and the user interface are both fairly poor. I'm a computer guy, but I found the user interface difficult to understand. For example, why should a triangle pointing to the right mean "Enter slideshow" but a curving arrow mean "Toggle between album and settings"? I would be afraid that non-computer people would have real problems changing the slide show speed or transition style.
Not nearly as versatile as advertized June 7, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My experience seems to be different than that of other reviewers. Maybe I have overlooked something or not understood the product's extremely scanty user instructions.
The 'frame' displays a very nice slideshow of pictures when I insert my camera's XD memory card. However, when I hook it up to my computer with the included connector nothing happens. The "instructions" provide no guidance whatever regarding the method whereby pictures may be extracted from the computer and put into the 'frame's' memory.
So, it seems my only option is to download pictures from my computer back into my camera's memory and then shift that memory card to the frame; a task I do not want to do as a matter of routine.
I conclude that the frame is nice for displaying recently taken photos that happen to still be on my camera's memory card, and other than that it is simply a piece of junk that I will store and forget in a drawer somewhere.
