GREAT choice for an Easy Camera for your pocket or purse December 23, 2007 I have always wanted a Nikon from my very 1st SLR in the 70's but could never afford one. My Minolta DiMage X20 dies recently and I needed to replace it for general photos (always carry a compact camera in my purse). I went searching and found this one would fit in my budget and have features I couldn't get anywhere else. I have not been a minute sorry and it's capibilities are far beyond what my other compact would do. The VR image stabilization minimizing the effect of camera shake is worth the price alone since my hands are not as stead as they once were. Read the details of the features and understand they are as described. You'll be happy you made this choice, even the panoramic mode is very cool and so easy to use.

Great pictures, but S.......................L.......................O........................W December 11, 2007 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
The pictures I took with this camera were all beautiful. There's no question - it is a very intelligent camera. I didn't get one shot that was blurred, overexposed or dark. The two complaints I have with it are how slow it is and that I got a LOT of "orbs" in my pictures. This camera works so hard and performs so many calculations that it is impossible to "capture a moment." By the time the camera is ready to shoot, the moment is gone. I'm not sure what to say about the orbs other than that they were there. I ended up returning it because I just couldn't deal with how slow it was.
Read the manual people! December 8, 2007 25 out of 27 found this review helpful
I keep seeing all of these review with silly problems, just read the manual! If it seems slow to take pics, change the shutter speed to the higher/faster speeds and the camera will keep up with your multi fast action photos, no delay as described by others. The power button is just like the one on the L series, although easy to turn on, the camera has an automatic sleep mode before it actually turns off. I love this camera, and when in high resolution photo mode, the display is vivid and quite clear, unlike the grainy lo res pics show on it. I give it a 5+ for outstanding ease and wonderful functions.

I have been shooting with Nikons since 1984. This is a great, pocket sized, QUALITY camera to use when you don't want to carry the big guns with all the lenses and accessories.
