 Fun little gadget September 17, 2008
I love this camera. It's really easy to use, really easy to carry around, and really easy to upload your videos onto your computer. It's perfect for trips, horsing around with your friends, or any event which you may want to capture on film. You can hook it up to your TV and watch your footage, which is nice. I particularly like the feature that allows you to make still pictures from your video footage. Fun!
Great little camera September 16, 2008
Here's my 2 cents worth: I love it. Underwater, on walks in the neighborhood and out in the desert. The quality of videos is great and I've already made the test uploads to youtube.
I'm no computer techie and the Flip walked me thru all the steps effortlessly. Help on youtube made it possible to edit more surely, but now that I have the idea, I see that the Flip software would have been able to do it with me as well.
You do need at least a Gbyte of RAM. I used my computer manual and googled to get the best price, and then paid one of my 9 year old computer gurus an ice cream cone to install it for me.
I do recommend the waterproof housing (really cool during our thunderstorms), and all the Flip buttons worked easily thru the housing...that's probably a nonissue nowdays.
I also recommend the male/female USB cable as it's a bit unwieldy hanging the Flip on the side of my notebook.
I am a senior and it's been a hit with my fellow old f****'s. I'm now easily able to keep up with my sons and grandsons in the video arena.
(By the way, creating folder names to store your videos requires some up front planning so you can find all the videos you shoot. One more thing: even a short video is too long to email using most free services, I upload 'em to youtube and my recipients download em. You can also send and receive if you and your recipients both have ftp capabilities -my sons have a web server and I use SimpleFTP freeware, but you need a computer techie to help you get going. Finally, you can write them to DVDs and mail 'em)

Flip Ultra is easy to use, convenient! September 15, 2008
The Flip Video is super easy to use and very convenient to just grab it and record when the baby does something film-worthy. I have a Sony Handycam that uses DV tapes but it is a real pain to get it out and find a tape, etc. Another selling point is that the Ultra uses AA batteries instead of a proprietary battery like the Mino. I bought a 4 pack of hi-power rechargable 2700 mAh batteries just to use in the Flip Ultra and they work great. I couldn't be happier with my Flip Video Ultra purchase.
Convenient September 15, 2008
I bought this camera for its size and ease of use. It more than fulfilled both. The lighting is great (without flash) and the sound picks up great. I'd buy this camera for a gift also.

Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-Minutes (White)ok i got the item and it recorded ok but can,t get it to down load on my pc, can,t find the software to come up on my pc, and you go to the help pages and it dosen,t help you that much,it play's on the tv, but thats about all, will keep trying, or have to buy a new pc,
