5 out of 5 stars Flip ultra 60min   December 30, 2007

This camera is great! I got it just before the birth of my child and the looks on the faces of my family when i told them the name is something that i can have for ever. Easy to use and simple to operate. Even for a guy that had just had his first child. Just bought one for my sister, for her Birhtday.

1 out of 5 stars Frustrated   December 30, 2007

I bought this as a gift for my daughter. We played videos through our TV and were very impressed with the quality. The problems started when I tried to connect it our home computer, a Dell desktop running Windows XP. It wouls attached to a USB port and the camera's screen would light up saying connected but the computer would not recognize it. I tried several ports and got the same result. I e-mailed support, got a response and followed the directions but still nothing. I tried connecting the camera to my office laptop, a Gateway also running Windows XP. It recognized it, although it caused an external hard drive to crash. While I had it connected I downloaded the upgraded recommended by tech support hoping that would do the trick on our desktop. Still nothing.

Needless to say I am very frustrated and my daughter is very disappointed. It looks like I need to return it to the place of purchase. But the problem remians, what about my daughter? The appeal of the Flip was its simplicity. To me simple is NOT spending over 2 1/2 hours trynig to get it to work properly and failing.

Depending on your computer, be prepared to feel the same way.

5 out of 5 stars Super flip movies and pix.   December 30, 2007

.
This is a delightful camera to own... so much fun. My little pals (9 & 7) love to take movies and pictures with it; soon the two-year-olds will do so as well.

I now find that I am actually part of the family, since I'm not the one behind the camera all the time.

It is simple to use, easy to transfer data, and fun, fun, fun!

I have had no problems at all in the four months I've owned the camera, and highly recommend it -- especially at this reduced price!

Have a lot of fun!

4 out of 5 stars No better camcorder for under $200   December 30, 2007

This camera is perfect for the on the go person who likes to save memories. If you purchase this product with the expectations that this will be your end all be all of cameras you will be disappointed. If you purchase it for a CONVENENT and EASY way to save memories, it is perfect! What I particularly like about the camera is that it doesn't look like a camcorder. Most people don't even realized they're being recorded! Such a good gift!

2 out of 5 stars Most Important Difference!!!   December 30, 2007

The GOOD:
the new version of the flip cameras is lighter than the last one. Besides it has a little hole that you can screw and use it with your tripod. It's more flat in the front so it's perfect to carry it on your pocket (it use less space than the last versions).

The BAD:
It doesn't have a MEMORY CARD slot like the last version. If you want to record more videos, you definitively have to save them before in your computer and erase the last data. That actually it's a really sad thing, because now many memory cards in AMAZON are being sold for less than 7 dollars... (I found one for 2.99!!! and new - less shipping of course). So that was my biggest deception when I bought it.
