Elements 6/alot to learn December 26, 2007 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just purchased a digital SLR camera. With all that it can do I needed a program to assist. I was told that Elements 6 was that program. They were right. It is a great program but so much to learn. That alone will keep me busy for a while before I start doing what it is capable of doing.I am looking forward to all of it
Elements is a great addition to my digital toolbox December 26, 2007 Elements 6 has added the functionality I needed to produce better digital photos. Its easy to use and delivers what it promises.
Good product; great price with $20 rebate December 25, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Although a computer professional, I'm not really into digital photography. A number of years ago, I bought a digital camera and have used it consistently for the last six years, editing my pictures with Photoshop Elements 2.0. With this upgrade to Elements 6.0, I find that there are many more things that I can do, and many things are easier to do that they were with 2.0. When you consider that the upgrade has a $20 rebate, making the final price only $49, it's a tremendous bargain for an excellent piece of software.
My son, who uses Photoshop CS 3 regularly, says that this new Elements has the same look and feel and seems to be a nice proper subset of CS3.
Photoshop Elements 6 December 25, 2007 Elements 6 is the standard of the industry, although it has a painfully slow learning curve. The Organizer which comes with it is more difficult to use than sticking with the Microsoft Windows standard with respect to initial cataloging. It does have some great features however.
The power of the editing functions are great, but there is no usable documentation except the menu driven help menu. "Elements 6 for Dummies", or "Elements 6, the Missing Manual" are both good books to use with this program, if you are new to Photoshop like me. Both became available in late December 2007.
Junk...Don't Buy December 25, 2007 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
The program stops working after 15 minutes of searching for photos for the organizer. Their Technical Support line charges $29. Note I have a brand new quad core processor computer with Vista Premium. Picass is much bewtter for photo organizing and it is free!
