 Not compatible with Camcorder December 21, 2007

I can not get my Sony editing program to talk to my $ 1,200.00 Sony HD HDR-SR7 camcorder. I also find it impossible to talk to a human being about the problem. I have done much editing with Pinnacle programs in the past but trying to read the instructions for Vegas Movie Studio 8 is like trying to understand Lower Slabovian.....

I am only a novice at video editing but the stuff I've been able to do with this program is amazing. I highly recommend it.

I had so much trouble with Pinnacle: Sound not in sync-- transition between scenes hanged--worked with technical support to no avail. Tried this new Sony product and all those issues are resolved--as easy to use, great built in tutorials. Awesome and flawless all the way around. I use a Sony Camera with 30 GB HDD--Pinnacle always "captured" okay when I used digital tape but couldn't handle the HDD--The Sony Movie Studio handles it just perfect.

I installed this product on my new Vista laptop and cannot get it to work at all. I contacted Sony support for a couple of weeks now to no avail as their support seems very weak. I am still waiting for answers and hopefully will get it to work.

It works. It renders all types of video from all types of video. There are four layers of visual, and three of audio. Effects are minimal, but it gets it done.
