 Tons of features but the image quality comes up short February 23, 2008

I love all the features of this camera. The main reason I bought it is that I love wide angle views and the widest view with this camera is equivalent to a 28 on a standard 35mm camera. After my first trip taking several hundred pictures, the one common denominator is a slight out of focus quality. When the camera is in full wide, it is particularly soft. Color is good, and exposure and other controls are great, but it is very dissapointing to see a full size print that is not sharp.
My old camera was a Nikon 995, with the wide adapter. Even though it was only 3 megapixels and showed some more color fringing at the edges, the wide angle images were sharp and beautiful. I will end up using that camera more than the new one!

I have not used this camera very long. But to date I love it. I was replacing a Olympus 450 zoom camera which I had great luck with for 7 years. This camera outpreforms the 450 in every aspect. A great camera for the price. No regreats.

This is the best camera I have ever used. Takes really good long shots ,will get good photos in very low light [at night no flash].Has so many features I am still learning how to use all of them. Price was unbelievable ,friend who has the same camera paid over $100 more than I did.

This was a gift and it has produed some great pictures of the grandchildren. Very user friendly according to my daughter-in-law.
