the pod is cool September 4, 2008 I love the idea of the little green gorillapod. I like the size vs. a standard tripod. It works pretty well, though it is not as stable as I would have hoped. As an alternative to carrying a typical tripod for certain situations it is very cool & worth owning.
Two Happyshutterbugs September 3, 2008 Bought this for my youngest son (a grown man, btw) who finds it great for his use. This makes me very pleased, too, because I also bought one for myself and fully share his attitude. Added a ballhead, which makes it perfect.Light, strong, extremely useful.
Gift September 3, 2008 I bought this item for my sister's b-day. She says it's great, perfect for use in places that are hard to get the right angle with the camera. Likes the ability for it to wrap around odd shaped objects.
Excellent for DSLR September 2, 2008 I have purchased this product with the Bogen-Manfrotto 484RC2 Mini Ball Head. I have used the tripod with a Canon 40D with a 70-200f4 USM IS lens which it can hang on to fine. I was worried about wrapping it around things to hold the camera, but its proved to be fine. I will note though, with the 70-200 its better using a lens collar than just mounting to the tripod under the camera - more stable. Great little tripod for what it is designed to do!
Gorillapod Review August 30, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
My Gorillapod arrived in excellent condition, packaged well and it is one product that does work as advertised. My only complaint or question is just what does "Ethically made in China" means? Does it mean that it didn't put Americans out of work or take an American job to make it in a communist country with no human rights? If you want to sell it in American make in the USA so Americans can afford to feed their children
