5 out of 5 stars One of the very best small cameras ever   May 10, 2007

I am a police officer and frequently have to take pictures of crashes, crime scenes, injuries, etc. This camera is small enough to be caried in my shirt pocket for 8 hours and not be a burden, so it's always with me. It has a large preview screen and it takes amazing photos for a camera so small. The versatility of the camera in auto modes is impressive, but the fact that it has a manual mode rivaling some high end cameras is astounding! It has manual focus, exposure, white balance and iso settings as well as on screen composition grids, histograms, and shutter speeds. The convenience of the SD card memory makes it possible for me to take hundreds of photos without worrying about memory and the camera allows the flexibility to take pictures at high mp resolution or step it down to 4mp or even 2mp for even more photos. The battery life is also impressive. I've never missed a shot because the battery was dying.

Although I use it for work, it is slim and compact enough for everyday carry by anyone who might need to take a picture of anything from a landscape to a business card (The auto correcting Macro feature is fantastic). As if that weren't enough, with the 2.0Gb SD card, I can record 40 minutes of high quality digital video or 80 hours of high quality audio (for those lengthy interrogations). This camera is like having a tool kit in my pocket. Pics, video and a digital recorder. Add to all this an amazing price, you can't go wrong!

Bottom line, if you are looking for a convenient, full featured small digital, look no further!! I recommend this camera without exception.

4 out of 5 stars Nice camera!   April 11, 2007

This isn't a professional camera but for snapshots, its a dream! Its very easy to use if you handle the camera like any 10 year old would. (Just start hitting buttons, till you've figured out how it works.)My only issue is taking pictures of trees and flowers. There is a setting for this scene, but no matter what I do, the shots come out almost unreal looking. Pictures of people come out great! :)

The software is useless unless you have Windows 98, but the camera itself works without the software on any higher programs like XP.

I was hoping to make larger prints from this camera, but I'm beginning to think its not going to produce anything larger than an 8 1/2 x 11. I think its partly the fault of digital printers thoough.

5 out of 5 stars Love the camera   March 29, 2007

So far, I really love this camera. It's very user friendly and gives you the option to put it in a VERY BASIC mode or normal mode. What attracted me to purchasing this camera was because of the long battery life and because of the picture quality. It has a large viewing area which is nice and it's very clear. I recommend this camera.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Little Camera!   March 19, 2007

I bought this camera for my boyfriend for his birthday in February (2007) on the condition that I could take it with me to Florida for my week of vacation in March. I love this camera! I also brought my 4 year old ($500) Sony digital camera, and used both throughout the entire week. My photos from both cameras were awesome, and I was very surprised to note that the photos taken with the Casio were somewhat better than my more expensive Sony. I'm sure some has to do with the technology (being that my Sony is much older) but I think a lot has to do with the Casio just being a great little camera. The BEST SHOT feature is awesome and takes the guesswork out of changing environments. I used the SCENERY choice the most, but also used FLOWER (for closeups of flowers and other things) and the PORTRAIT choice for pics of my friends and family. I also took some pictures on the regular AUTO setting, which also came out great. I loved how fast this camera is - I was on a boat ride and dolphins began jumping through the boat's wake and in one fluid motion I grabbed the Casio, hit the ON button as I swung my arm over the side of the boat and instantly clicked the shutter button - I got an incredible shot of the dolphin jumping through the air! All of that occurred in the time it would have taken my old Sony just to turn on. I never would have gotten that shot with the Sony. I highly recommend this camera!!! And it's so small it fits in a shirt pocket. A definite plus!

5 out of 5 stars one of the best of its kind   March 9, 2007

I've had other 3 digital cameras and this is the best I think, I shots very quick, flash is brighty, and even soft flash for more natural shots.

can browse pictures very fast and is has a lot of posibilities to edit inside the camera, is light tiny and slim.

one of the best cameras.

I don't find a negative feature on it. I love it.
