I needed an extra battery, and a case, and this combo inludes both, plus a haze filter, for much cheaper than I was finding JUST a battery for. Definetly worth the price!
Battery works perfect!
Haze filter is a nice addition as well.
The bag is awesome, but may not be the right size for someone not planning on adding to their glass collection. THe bag is big, for a reason. it's got a camera body section, and then four divided sections for glass or miscellanious items. Fits my 70-300mm IS USM lens with no problem, so it has room!

i thought its a good deal while i was in need for the extra batt and nothing more... but when i got them the battery is fine, the bag is good quality and i like the side pockets. but the filter IS NOT FOR THE G7 as it says or should be. and it is not for the telephoto lens or even the wide lens so i dont know what to do with it other than keeping it aside till any of my friends needs it.

After seeing this Canon Starter Kit at Best Buy for over twice the price this was a no brainer for me. I needed an extra battery and a 58mm filter which alone almost added up to the price here. With recent additions of new lenses I needed a larger bag and for almost free (after battery and filter price deducted bag was about $20) there was no down side. The bag works great for me so far but I wish there was a zipper to enclose the main compartment. Unless you have real long lenses or are headed out into a dust storm (West Texas weather event) this should be perfect if you need the extra battery and filter. No regrets here.
