just what I neededJanuary 19, 2008 This product is a must have if you want to add more lenses to the camera.Since I MUST have all Canon products for my camera,(powershot IS5) there was no other option than to have this adapter.

I don't know the used for and also takes a lot of space I don't understand why I bouth it personally don't recommended is not clear how it helps you taking pictures.

Great for attaching lens filters and protecting your lens. When i put on the hood with a uv lens you can see the corners in the picture but without the uv filter everything fits good. It would be nice if you could do both but not a big deal. Highly recomended. Wish i had this on a boat trip and water kept splashing my zoom lens.

Made of plastic so the threads are tricky when attaching my teleconverter lens. I bought a third party aluminum adapter after this one that is fantastic and does not have thread problems. As this is a Canon product I figured it would have been made much better. Pretty lousy for what it cost. I don't recommend it.
