Why have a jump drive? September 14, 2005 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This MobileReader eliminates the need for a USB jump drive - just use the flashcard from your phone, pocketPC, or etc. It also saves a bunch of time over using ActiveSync to transfer data to your PocketPC's flashcard or to download you vacation photos from your camara. Very handy and easily a must-have for the price.
Not a good product September 7, 2005 20 out of 26 found this review helpful
Sandisk usually makes good stuff but the MobileMate SD+ doesn't fall into that category. After using it with a TransFlash card no more than 12 times the unit would not recognize the card without constant pressure on it - presumably to make proper contact inside the unit. Needless to say this is unacceptable so now I am off to find another reader for my TransFlash cards. I was skeptical of this before I even bought it and now I know why - I like to stick with PCMCIA card readers for my laptop and will be looking for one of those now.
amazing September 4, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It's very handy. Using the camera and cables to transfer pictures to PC is such a hassle. This is a very convenient and efficient device for camera freaks.
Works well March 14, 2005 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This thing works great. It reads and writes quickly to SD cards. I had some trouble getting a Windows XP and Mac OS X computers to write to my SD card (kept complaining about being write-protected), but this was resolved by inserting the SD card not quite all the way. I have not tried the MobileMate with a Multimedia card. My major complaint is that the cover for the card slots is not permanently attached. If one attempts to swing it out of the way to insert a card, it falls off. A drop of Super Glue was a quick and permantent fix. Another complaint is that this tiny thing is power hungry. It must be attached directly into a computer's USB port. It over powers any USB hub - even the USB hub in a Mac keyboard.
