5 out of 5 stars Great monopod   June 6, 2008
I used this recently while photographing Mountian Goats. I had to wade a stream and climb a mountain and didn't want to carry a tripod. When I hiked up the mountain I used the monopod as a walking stick. It worked great, both as a walking stick and to study my camera with a 500mm lens. I highly recommend this item.

5 out of 5 stars sturdy thick great grip and great price   June 2, 2008

I think I summed it all up in the title. I own 4 of these. They are indispensable. They a so much cheaper than all the other ones out there (that I know of). This has a grip that feels really gishmocke. It's sturdy and feels solid. I also own a slik monopod and I am unhappy with it. Besides for the fact that I spent so much more on it.

4 out of 5 stars All in all great!!   May 29, 2008
Very happy with it for the $20 price (including shipping). You can spend more and get something more solid, but if all you need is an occasional monopod or nothing to rigorous (like hiking or mountain climbing) you can't go wrong here.

Other reviews of this monopod were almost entirely positive, so I took the chance. While not pro quality (and not advertised as such) it holds up well to my 10D with grip and telephoto. The mounting stud broke off at the first use, but I repaired with a new 1/4-20 bolt and washer, and now it's better than new, and virtually unbreakable. I mounted a head leftover from an old Sunpak monopod, and now have a very sturdy and versatile monopod for well under $20.

Love this monopod. Very sturdy and I fit the swivel head from my cheap old monopod to the top and it works great. Can't beat it for the price.
