Great speedlight for many situations March 7, 2008 I have been amazed at the intelligence built into this flash. I have a Nikon D80, so everything programatically synchronizes. The lens knows when I am zooming in on a subject and adjust the focus of the light. I have only played a bit with the bounce feature, but have been very pleased with it for the limited time I have had it.
SB-800 excellent value compared to SB-600 February 13, 2008 I have used the SB-800 along with two SB-600, initially just the two SB-600 with my Nikon D80. SB-600s left shortcomings light "fill" on many of my shots. Purchased additional SB-800 (being much more powerful with a quicker cycle). Much better product and worth every cent!. The pop-out white card on the bounce flash produced some excellent results even if used as a single flash light source. I am an old analog SLR guy but the speedlight technology and its accuracy is totally amazing especially when all three are used in concert!
Great Flash photos are more professional February 8, 2008 I have recently gone from 35 MM to digital SLR. This flash is great. The manual is easy to read and the examples help alot too. This flash has taken my photos to the next level. This is a smart flash for up close, planned portraits or focus and shooting.
Top Quality Product February 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
An excellent item, has all the features and the power needed for professional use. Bought to replace my SB-600's for use as a master in Creative Lighting System projects, and cannot fault in any way.
A must-have for the semi-pro / pro Nikon user.
Good flash February 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't have much experience of other flashes, but I am satisfied with my Nikon SB-800. It's a strong flash so if it is aimed at the target at indoor shooting the pictures will become very white. The best results indoors seems to be pointing the flash upwards and backwards, bouncing the light against ceiling and walls. Then the result is very good.
