Great flexible ball head June 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This head combined with the 190Xpro is a solid setup. The only downside is the weight, but the build quality and feel is rock solid. The RC2 connect system is quick and easy and very secure.
Good ballhead for the money June 13, 2008 Pleased overall with the performance of the ballhead. Would like to upgrade one of these days with a head that performs fine tuning adjustments, but that will of course cost more. I put some pretty heavy loads on this, and have had 0 problems with it. Quick release is a good one. Quality ballhead for the money.
BOGEN BALL HEAD June 8, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
THIS BALL HEAD IS A QUALITY PRODUCT AND A MUST WHEN USING A TRI-POD, HOWEVER, IT IS HEAVY. YOU CAN GET THEM IN ALUMINUM, BUT THEY ARE NOT AS DURABLE. ALSO AVAILABLE IN TITANIUM AND SAVE WEIGHT BUT COST IS 3-4 TIMES HIGHER.
Solid as a... June 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a nice solid head with a good feel. I'm not a pro and I'll admit I was moving up from a cheaper tripod, but every time I handle this thing I get a little surge when I realize how easily it adjusts and how well it locks into position. I also really like having the second knob that gives you the option of horizontal only.
If I have any niggle, it's with the tiny gold safety lever that must be pushed down and turned in order to operate the main locking plate lever. The design works fine, but the lever is very small and I'd guess that in cold weather it might be a little hard to use. Still, it hasn't been a problem for me so far, and I have large hands. Definitely happy with the purchase.
big, heavy, solid. May 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As far as ball heads go this is rock solid. it also lets you pan to the left and right which come in handy for panoramic pictures. This is not a tripod head for video however and it would be somewhat awkward :)
