5 out of 5 stars Sony Flash addition   January 30, 2007
Purchased this flash to eliminate red-eye, enhanch indoor shots, and add vesitility to my Sony DSC-V3. Flash is all it is advertised to be, an excellant product. Price was very good, being 60+ dollars cheaper than from other suppliers. Arrived exactly when told it would. Couldn't be happier with product or supplier.

5 out of 5 stars Sony HVLF32X external Flash   January 29, 2007
This flash was on my wish list for quite while. I received it as it was scheduled - thanks Amazon! - and had just a few hours to get used to it before shooting a very important event: a wedding.
I am very pleased with the outcome. Red eyes were always a problem, but not with this wonderful device.
I tried all modes and all of them yielded very good results. The battery life is a bit short, but taking into account the number of photos I had taken it was quite good.
My overall experience with this product is very positive and I would say that for any serious amateur photographer using Sony F828 (which I like very much too) this flash is highly recommended

2 out of 5 stars Still don't get it............   January 11, 2007

The only thing that I consider poor design is the battery compartment lid which is constantly opening. Think a better design could have been incorporated so that this would not happen. Even a screw that locked the lid could have been much better, but then again you have the cost of a small screw that would affect the bottom line.
Other than that, it was in the 4 star area.............

4 out of 5 stars it's good   January 9, 2007

A compliment to the DSC V3. Easy to use and adds greatly to the range of the camera. I like the way the flash and the camera "communicate" with each other when you slide the flash in the shoe and turn it on.

One wee small complaint.... makes the camera a little top-heavy when you have it around your neck with the strap.... picky... picky .... picky

Wish I had gotten the HVLF32X when I got the camera!!!

5 out of 5 stars Flash time, still slow AF   November 9, 2006
The flash itself is excellent. The auxillary IR beam on the unit helps with autofocus, but is no panacea. So if you own a Sony DSC-R1, you will still find autofocus in dim (read: low interior light at night) light extremely slow. So even with this flash, in dim light you must press the button 2 seconds before you expect to take your picture. I've no experience with the new Sony SLR.
