5 out of 5 stars Creative shots outdoors   October 5, 2007
Tiffen's 77mm graduated filter allows you to have some great skies on your outdoor shots. We utilize this primarily for our beach portraits. The blues really come out in the backdrop and you can do some creative effects with the blues when the sun is coming down.

PROS
----
1. Allows for great 'blue' creativity, especially outdoors.
2. It rotates for vertical or horizontal shots.

CONS
----
1. Threading might be a bit of a problem, it worked okay for us but this is a common complaint for Tiffen filters.

5 out of 5 stars No complaints!   October 1, 2007

Does what it's supposed to. No vignetting on my Sigma 10-20mm on a Pentax K-mount. Works with the factory lens cap perfectly.

5 out of 5 stars nice lens   September 28, 2007
this tiffen 77mm does the job. protects my 24-70 lens and so far no complaints. ive had it for about 3 weeks now and it has not given me any negative dissapointment but one.
I was trying to clean in between my camera lens and the tiffen uv filter but the uv filter is stuck now (i probably tightened it too much).
other than that. go for it. its worth every penny. protect your expensive lens.

1 out of 5 stars Fundamental problem   September 25, 2007

I bought this filter for a canon 17 55 wide angle lens. I suppose it serves its function and protects the lens, but the overriding problem is that it doesn't allow for the lens cap to seal. The lens cap can barely be secured to the filter and will fall off repeatedly.

1 out of 5 stars Read Gatorvalenz first - NOT FOR WIDE ANGLE   September 14, 2007

I (foolishly) purchased this filter to place upon a Tokina 12 - 24 mm Nikon lens, exactly the same as Gatorvalenz, because I was too carried away with the 'buy me too....' approach engendered (and desired) by Amazon. That's fine, my mistake. It cost an additional USD 30 to buy a filter that would work effectively with the Tokina lens. As a side note (almost...) this filter comes with the WORST packaging I have ever seen. Fine if you buy from the store, but not so great (for me...) when the filter traverses 10 time zones via Fedex/UPS/Other Carrier of Your Choice. Luckily (and this was probably pure luck...) the filter was OK - but useless for the intended use!
