Nikon D60 is a great buy! October 27, 2008 This is my first attempt to enter the world of digital photography using a D-SLR and so I wanted to purchase a camera with a reliable name brand and recognition, ease of use, value priced, and one that would have a great amount of long-term flexibility - i.e. lots of lens offerings, accessory availability, etc. I found all of these things AND MORE in the Nikon D60. I know several folks who shoot professional photography and use Nikon products, only. Even for a more advanced user, the D60 is sure to not disappoint. It takes great photos even on the automatic settings, is a great size that fits easily into your hand, and has many nice and unique in-camera features (such as digital retouch and the ability to edit photos on the fly). The included kit lenses are pretty decent, especially now that they come with the "VR" technology...this seems to help quite a bit in reducing blur caused by camera shake at low shutter speeds. All in all, I am very impressed with the camera (and Nikon overall) and am excited to learn more about it...and more about the world of digital photography!
D60 is a keeper October 25, 2008 I've had the D60 with 18-55VR kit lens for about 3 weeks. I also bought the 55-200VR lens primarily so I could photograph my fiance's son in his HS football games. I am very pleased with the camera, its ease of operation, how it performs in low light, and the quality of the images it produces. I find myself often using the camera in burst mode to take 10-20 images in succession while tracking with the football. I get some good shots that way, plus I can put them into a stop-motion movie using the camera. I learned at last week's game from a couple parents that our football player has been posting some of my images online and they have been getting rave reviews. (In fact, one of the Moms has already been talking to Santa Claus!) It's light. It's easy. It's fun. I don't need what this camera doesn't have, such as movie mode.
Great Camera!!! October 24, 2008 I bought the D60 because it was closer to my price range compared to the D300, which I really wanted. I know it doesn't have the full features that the D300 has, but I have been really happy with the D60. It does everything I need it to for now. It is a great camera for someone starting out doing photography. It takes great pictures and is easy to use. It is a great buy!
Easy to learn October 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received the camera Nikon D60 a day before my Bright angel hike to the Grand canyon. I have previously own a SLR however this is my first Digital SLR. Though I was still experimenting during my tedious hike, i was able to take beautiful pictures. I love the quality of the pictures, the features of the camera enable me to retouch my photo, especially while I am experimenting my camera.
There is only one thing that I wasn't satisfied with the sale deal. The battery charger came in the voltage of 110V, that means that I may not be able to use when I am travelling to some places in Asia. I thought that all cameras charger should come with dual voltages. That means the camera can be use world wide I was not able to source the dual voltage charger here, can anyone help me with that.

NIKON D60 EXCELLENT CAMERA October 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found the Nikon D60 to be an excellent camera and easy to use. I am only a pedestrian photographer but this camera is cool and has the Nikon click when you press the shutter release which is satisfying.
