Gorillapod October 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great little gadget! Just make sure you unscrew the extra screw so it will fit straight onto your camera if the screw is too big. It has this extra screw that takes up extra space and you may have to remove it. I felt like an idiot when the camera store guy showed me this.
Grips anything October 24, 2008 I added posts (available in camera stores) to these gorilla pods and used them to hook pro strobes to temporary walls at a trade show. They worked great under considerable stress (walls being bumped often). Highly recommend them!
A Must For All Camera Buffs October 21, 2008 Easy to use, easy to carry around, light weight and the best part is that it puts you the camera person back into the picture no matter where you are! It is great.
great for natural light October 18, 2008 We love this little tripod. It allows us to take more pictures with natural light and no flash, and it's also great for getting all of us in the picture. We use a remote or a timer and set the camera up in any location. Great idea!
A handy product, just don't use it with any pro level zoom lens October 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Joby GP3 works great with SLR bodies with light lens attached to it. Although the GP3 definitely is not a real tripod replacement, it can be extremely handy when you're trying to pack a light load. I've used it with a d300 w/ plastic lens, such as the 50mm, 60mm, and 18-55mm lens. However, if you're planning on putting pro level lens that weigh a good pound or two, then you'll want to look elsewhere. I've tried attaching my D300 w/ 24-70 nikkor and the legs did not hold up. Overall, the GP3 is an innovative product that's light, unobtrusive, and very handy if used with the right equipment. I would not recommend using any pro zoom lens with the GP3, because the legs simply are not strong enough to hold up.
