bought the SLR version for my nikon D70s connected it up tried to use it on a verticle pipe and it flopped all over the place not stable at all. Would not take the weight as stated.
digital camera necessity November 24, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am a mom who takes her 2-year-old everywhere. On our last outing to the zoo, we used our Gorillapod to take a family photo. We were able to attach it to the umbrella stroller handle, without tipping it over. WE LOVE IT!!! I think we have our Christmas photo. This tripod is great for any parent trying to catch their kids in action. I actually get to be in the photo with my daughter, without having to bother strangers.
Must have November 20, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Just returned from a 2 week trip to Turkey where I was able to take some unbelievable pictures with my digital pocket camera thanks to this amazing gadget. Holds camera on anything (railings, rock outcroppings, etc.) and can even hold it for vertical format pictures. Allowed me to take pictures of me and my girlfriend that would have been impossible otherwise. Allowed me to take time lapse pictures that could only be taken with a tripod in places where other pocket tripods wouldn't work and normal size ones aren't allowed. All this and it fits in your pocket. I'm telling all my friends, and getting my Dad one for Christmas. A must have.
A fun accessory; tough too October 21, 2006 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
This thoughtful piece of interlocking spheres, reminiscent of a toy my kids used to have - I played also - , makes a great companion for the Canon G3 I have, given both its weight and remote control functions. I first saw the smaller model but wanted a wide enough base to shoot vertically at stars for ex. This hit that sweet spot for me. Also, the unit's rigidity allows it to become a "handle" wielding the camera-head, hatchet-like.
I am expecting it to outlast the earth it's on, given its polymer base.
I would like to have taken this next step from the toys of twenty years ago! This is design engineering at its best.
Great Article October 20, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a great product, there is always a place you can put this tripod on to take a great picture. Very useful, you could not live without it once you have it. I will buy the one for SRL cameras...
