3 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with dual monitors   January 27, 2007

As other reviewers have noted, this software will not work if you use a dual monitor set-up. I thought I could get around this by turning off my dual monitors, and calibrating just one monitor to use for photo processing. That doesn't work, though. Something in the calibration software is just incompatible with the dual monitor software.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent and Easy Way to Calibrate Monitor   January 19, 2007

Excellent product. As easy to use as one, two, three. One, install software. Two plug in the device. Three reset the monitor to factory default and wait few minutes - you are done.

I could definitely see the improvement, not just in Photoshop (I had to redo a few photos :( since the colors were originally off) but also the DVD movies, (finally lost their yellowish cast) and overall feel of the monitor.

Excellent product for reasonable price.

5 out of 5 stars Spyder2Express A very affordable way to profile a monitor   January 18, 2007

I was having serious color issues between what I saw on my monitor and what the photo printer was producing. For 2 years I had had perfect synergy between the two.

I tried to use all the online profiling tools. I tried using XP's color tool and I even used Adobe's Gamma.

Nothing worked.

At one of the online fora someone recommended the Spyder2Express. I bought it at A[...].

Spyder2Express is so easy to use. Load the Software; plug in the "spyder"; and the PC profiles its monitor.

Every picture now matches what I edited on the monitor.

Spyder2Express will profile CRT's, LCD's, and projectors.

So easy and accurate. I recommend it.

This product appears to do an adequate job of calibrating LCD monitors. I use it for my Dell 2007WFP. However, the software has some issues that make it a pain in the posterior to use. If they can't write a product that doesn't conflict with standard issue CD-ROM driver software - Roxio - then perhaps they should warn potential customers in large print; sort of like cigarette warning labels.

Danger - This product will not work properly in many Windows environments.

Colorvision, please update your software.

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't work for more than 1 display   January 11, 2007

I bought this hoping it would help me with calibrating my 4-monitor setup so colors would match each other. However, it only works with one monitor. The device itself seems to work great, I used it on the worst display and it really brought out vibrant color. It will work on more than one computer, but not well. It forces you to recalibrate every 30 days, which means if you try to use it both at work and home, you'll be carrying this back and forth at least twice per month. Instead of creating a color profile your video card can then load automatically, it uses some weird startup software that "replaces" your current profile with this one. I don't even want to know how much this is slowing down my boot-up time. Many times, the replacement fails, and you have to click a few errors off screen, and the color profile doesn't even load.

If you have a single computer with a single monitor you wish to calibrate and are willing to foot the bill, this will probably work ok for you. But for any type of advanced user, be prepared to spend a whole lot more on something that will actually work for your situation.
