The Spyder2 express is extremely easy to use with instructions that are very easy to follow. I use it on a new 22" LCD. I did notice an immediate improvement in the colors on my monitor especially in the skin tones. I do a lot of photography and I recently sent out for some test prints and they came back with good results in relation to what I saw on my monitor. The important thing to remember with photography is that a print reflects light and a monitor emits light so they will never be an exact match. Also are you incorporating printer profiles into your editing? I would recommend this product and I also like it because the software is upgradeable through the website while using the same hardware. I only gave it four stars because I know there are better models out there but at a much higher price. It all depends on your budget and how critical your color accuracy is. Hint: If your color accuracy is that critical you probably aren't reading this and already own a much higher end model than this.
Great Calibrator for the money November 25, 2007 Works very easily, does all the work for you. Significant difference after calibrating using Spyder. I had tried using the Adobe Gamma calibrator, but never achieved good results. I edit alot of photos, so this was a great buy.
Spyder and Canon I9900 November 13, 2007 I recently got a new Vista HP desktop with an HP 24 inch monitor. The monitor made my photos look great but I was not getting the same quality when printing. My printer is a Canon I9900 which is a few years old but was considered excellent at the time - 8 ink variety.
I tried the Spyder2 Express since the price was reasonable and it made a dramatic difference with my print output. I was about to go and buy a new and expensive printer but now feel that my older Canon will perform well for a while longer.
The software was easy to follow - everything worked quite well. Thanks the person at dpreview.com who mentioned this product.
Either it is defective or it is just not any good at all November 6, 2007 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
This turns my monitor a nice shade of dull pea green (Dull Yellow). I tried all three ways to use this Spyder2 Pro and all three calibration methods do the exact same pea green monitor calibration. I took it to a friends house and it turned his monitor the exact same shade of green. I took it to my neighbors and it turned his Laptop the same shade of green. It only knows one color to calibrate a monitor. I bought it here at Amazon but it came from Adorama and they won't let me return it because the box was opened. It was already opened when I recieved it. I guess I will either have to eat the $175.00 or see if I can't charge back the credit card. This item is supposed to be warrentied for two years. I'm just not very satisfied with this thing at all. Oh Yea!!!! The Print-Fix plus will not work on my Epson 1400 printer and according to colorvision customer service they discontinued the item and are not going to add any more printers to the list. It was too good so I guess they dropped it because it worked very well. I used it to calibrate my old Epson 1280 printer using glossy paper and it did a perfect job. There will be no more printers added to the list though so what good is it? I e-mailed colorvision customer service again but I know it will just be the same run around telling me to try stuff I already tried.
for a better monitor November 5, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i am an amateur photographer. I have been struggling the color mismatch between my computer screen and print out. spyder pro is too pricey for me. This is right product for me. It took about several minutes to complete the process. Now I am sure what I see is what I will get.
