1 out of 5 stars Adorama can be a little dumb   June 16, 2008

I refused to accept this order. I ordered two rear lens caps for a total of about $10.00. They are very small, light, and were sent in one small envelope. Adorama tried to charge me for shipping two items, thus the shipping charge was about $12.00. I tried to cancel this order before it shipped, but they didn't get around to following my request on time.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly as expected.   February 11, 2008
I have tried off name brand of caps, but nothing fits like the Nikon ones on a Nikon lens.

I have switched to these as well as the official Nikon lens caps for all of my lenses. Gives a sense of continuity when swapping lenses and not having to worry about which cap goes to which lens.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a replacement or using a single design for their entire lens collection.

It is a lens cap for the rear of nikon lenses. I wanted a spare. It function nicely.

5 out of 5 stars An essential accessory   February 24, 2007

This solidly made bayonet-style rear lens cap is essential for anyone who owns more than one lens. It is far more secure than the translucent "tupperware-style" push-on rear cap supplied with some Nikkor lenses. Those things have no positive retention and I would only use one to keep the back of the lens off the table when cleaning the sensor, or if the lens was going back into its original packaging (in the plastic bag and then into the styrofoam/pressed paper inside the box) because they're just too insecure for field use. The LF-1 is cheap insurance for your expensive glass!
