Great printer, high price September 27, 2008 This is a great printer. Prints super nice pictures, but I don't understand why this price is so high! I bought one on Kodak.com for less that $100! I would look elsewhere before you buy one for $375.00!
Dumb enough to purchase two July 20, 2008 I liked the printer at first. And even put up with it's unreliability. Normally I am pretty easy going and realize nothing electronic will work amazing each and every time. But...I sit down to print out photos for scrapbooking, and the printer freaks out. I had to troubleshoot by going online and researching what the errors was...there was no description of my error, so instead I ripped them damn thing apart and the ink cartridge was stuck. I ripped that out and had to open the machine further in order to get the broken piece out. Not happy, but purchased a second printer anyways...hoping I might find some resolve (doubting it, and angry at my purchase). I will deal with it and try and clean it better and whisper sweet nothings into it's ports and hope it finds love within my print outs. I am not wanting to purchase another printer. I just purchased one, but not for photos because I have the amazing non working printer...If I could recommend it to friends or family, I would say buy the camera and a buy different printer.
Too bad it's not always good! May 25, 2008 I just ran across these customer reviews on the Kodak G600 printer dock and found so many similarities with my experience -- bought the camera first, then the printer in March 2007. Worked great at first -- produces bright, good quality pictures; fairly easy setup between camera directly or computer; no messy ink or toner; BUT.... when it shoots craps, forget it!
I had the same trouble with paper rollers... researched the troubleshooting and did the cleaning with some alcohol and Q-tips, fixed that problem.
Then I was in the process of printing several photos and the color cartridge indicator light came on. After I had taken out the old one and inserted the new one, as I had done numerous times, the printer started up again briefly but then stopped with the red cartridge icon light blinking. When I tried to remove the cartridge, it wouldn't come out. I tried numerous ways for quite a while, even temporarily taking off the top and side panels - we were finally able to remove the cartridge by breaking it (the cartridge) and extracting it in pieces. However, I still could not insert a new cartridge.
Since luckily it was still barely under warranty, I had to get a duplicate sales receipt from the store I purchased it from and ship it to a service center. I think they sent me back a different "refurbished" printer and it has never worked properly... pictures come out very fuzzy or grainy, seems like something's not lined up right.
I guess I'm glad to see I'm not alone with this. I too hope Kodak can do whatever to improve the reliability and longevity of what could be a cool little printer.
G600 Problem with paper feed April 10, 2008 I had the first easyshare printer, & wore it out for 4 years. I got this one for Christmas with the new Z1275 Camera. I used it for Christmas pics & it was fine. I started to print out some wedding photos I took in April & kept getting the add paper. I added paper, flipped the paper put the tray in & out many times. Still got the add paper. I emailed Kodak with the problem & am still waiting for an answer. If you buy it, dont buy it from Kodak. If they fix it, I will have to mail it to them. Added expense & added time that I dont have it.
BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! April 8, 2008 This printer is junk!!!! I printed 2 pictures and they did not print out. After a huge hassle setting this printer up, the brand new printer cartridge ran out of ink. Do not buy this printer. I love the camera but the GS600 printer dock is junk.
