1 out of 5 stars Useless filter wrenches   August 28, 2008
If you have a stuck filter these wrenches in my case a 77mm circular polorizer was stuck on my B&W uv filter.

These wrenches are cheap flimsy waste of time, I don't know how or why anyone would want to use these, I tried everything to try and get them not to twist or bend when I squeezed them together, I finally gave up and threw them in the trash.

These filter wrenches are flimsy plastic and useless for filters that are stuck.

Take your filter to a camera shop and have a pro remove it for you, believe me these things are useless.

5 out of 5 stars Great for circular polarizers and other filters   August 5, 2008

If you have filters on your camera, whether it's a UV filter that is on the lens 99% of the time, or you change filters often, then I highly recommend getting these lens wrenches. This product is particular useful in loosening my B+W Circular Polarizer because the wrench can lock onto the screw-in portion of the filter, instead of the rotating outside layer. The one time that I couldn't get my UV filter off and I didn't have the wrenches around, I really regretted it. Now I carry them with me in my camera bag all the time, since they don't take up much space. I bought these and the smaller size ones, and since there are two wrenches in each pack, I gave one set to a friend.

Beware though, if you tighten your filters onto your lenses with as much force as you're tightening the pipes in your bathroom, then you're going to have trouble getting the filter loose with any product.

I agree that the shipping cost from the vendor is pretty high for this product. I have the luxury of living in NYC, so I just walked over and got these in person. If you know someone in NYC, get them to pick these up for you. Or you can save up a bunch of items and order them all at once to save on shipping.

I bought this only to use when my hands mat be cold or dirty; other than that you don't want to put a filter on an expensive lens with a pipe wrench.

That makes life easier. Great for losening the filter that just won't come off!!! Cheap, but perfect idea. A must have for your camera bag.

1 out of 5 stars Did not work for me !   March 19, 2008
First I was disappointed with the material this gadget is made of, very light and easily breakable plastic. I bought it to detach a filter from a step-up, I also used rubber bands. At the end, one of the two wrenches broke :( Seems that the filter will be on the step-up forever.
