IM FEEL LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE!!! November 18, 2008 I wonder what took me so long to buy this lens but after reading reviews on other sites I felt I needed to at least try it out. I went to my local camera store here in LA and the owner let me play with it for the day ---- I purchased it when I came back... its that good... buy it buy it buy it
awesome high aperture lens October 12, 2008 its a great lens for high aperture shoots. keep in mind if you have a Nikon D40 or D60 the auto focus will not work, you will have to manually focus the lens. other then that is is a great lens
Worth it. October 11, 2008 It's worth it, don't be cheap and settle for the 1.8f. This lens can take pictures by candle light.
Great lens for even beginners! October 3, 2008 I had researched both the f/1.4 and the f/1.8. Because of this model's ability to better take pictures in low lighting situations, I went with this one. It is awesome! I highly recommend that if you are trying to decide between the two lens, spend the extra money and go with the one that will handle more diverse lighting situations. You won't be disappointed.
another must-have nikkor September 7, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've got this lens for a couple of weeks now, and it is AMAZINGLY beautiful. Creamy bokeh....much like a painting. Can't get that with a 1.8.
Very light so portable in many situations. The contrast and color saturation rivals some of the best lens from Nikon and Canon.
Sharp sharp sharp and very little flare. Don't get the 1.8 because it's cheap, get this for its solid build and its low light capabilities. This is an excellent investment.
