Great idea, software needs a bit of work December 19, 2007

As I understand it, the Post-It Photo Card Kit is a new product. Which would explain why the folks at 3M have a ways to go with their software.
I'm used to the straightforward interface of Photoshop Elements, so it took me a while to figure out the multi-step process of creating a card. And it also took a while to get my HP inkjet printer configured to print the cards out properly. Once that was done, however, the cards turned out really well. It was neat to be able to print custom holiday cards for different people on the list.
There aren't a lot of templates available and as far as I could see there was no way to design your own instead of using one of the prefab ones. (It may well be possible--it just wasn't immediately apparent.)
I think this is a good product and a good idea--people can use your cards as giant Post-Its if they want, or leave the paper backing on the card and treat it as a regular photo card. I hope there will be more templates released and that further releases of the software will be easier to use.
