Seriously Lacking Photography Magazine August 15, 2010 Skavoovie (Dallas, TX) Seriously lacking in any real content. Subscribed for a year and opted not to renew even when renewal was offered at a major discount. Go with Popular Photography or even Outoor Photography. Don't forget about RangeFinder, which is available for free, but geared towards professionals and semi-professionals.
Art Inspiring July 31, 2010 September American Photo showcases master photographers and their work. Yes, this sometimes means nudity, but in many place and for many thousands of years that has simply been a form of art. If you want to see great photos, on a beautiful glossy finish, pick up this magazine. If you want to know how the photographer snapped that shot this is not the magazine for you. Personally, I find this magazine as a source of inspiration. I page through, finding ideas along the way and the magazine is priced well for this purpose.
Great magazine, lots of good info April 28, 2010 A. Kim (Costa Mesa, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I can't think of too much to say about a magazine, but if you are a photographer (amateur or pro) or just interested in art, this is a good magazine with a good mixture of artistic insight, techniques, gear review, and artist interviews. Not cluttered with ads like some other photography magazines.
If you are into landscape photography, I would suggest another magazine like Outdoor Photographer.
Not for snap shooters April 18, 2010 James P. Sutton Jr. 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a magazine for serious photographers and others interested in the art of photography. There is little in it for techno-geeks, gadget-hounds or the snap shooter who only takes his camera to the annual family reunion. But if you're serious about photography, this magazine contains is a lot of good photography and excellent profiles of professional phtographers and how they work.
Very useful, very good looking magazine. April 10, 2010 B. Vogel (Boston, MA United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
While not as technical as the ubiquitous Popular Photography magazine, American Photo is a much glossier monthly with stunning pictures and great advice. For the price, it is worth adding to your list.
