| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Covering field of view to 600mm (35mm equivalent), this high mobility super-telephoto zoom lens weighs only 620 grams. Also, this lens incorporates three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens elements to offer sharper, higher-contrast imaging performance.Furthermore, 1x magnification (35mm equivalent) tele-macro photography is capable. Thanks to Four-Thirds system, the lens offers a lot of the footwork out of both super-telephoto and macro photography world.

4/3rds long telephoto August 30, 2008 I've had this lens a bit over a month and already taken great photos. It's short, lightweight, sharp, inexpensive, a bit slow on the focus, and not quite as fast as some. Combined with an Olympus IS system, you get an equivalent 600mm reach that is (with practice) hand- holdable in most situations. Try that with any other lens! I'm not saying it can't be beaten, but for the price and the weight/size, it's a remarkably great piece of glass!
Great value for the money August 29, 2008 I just bought this lens a few weeks back. I love it. Check out my test pictures at http://www.viewbehindmylens.com/2008/08/olympus-70-300mm-f40-56-ed-zuiko-lens.html
Olympus Zuiko 7-300mm August 23, 2008 Cannot say anything but outstanding! I use this as my primary lens for all of my action (softball) shots. Supurb lens.

zuiko 70-300 yes August 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
great lens
yes it searches for focus in low light or low contrast but it is awesome in all other situations
also a great lens for close up macro type photography= as long as you can get back 3 ft you can zoom all the way in!
i have seen colors and patterns on insects I never ever would have known were there pretty amazing macro ability
very fun nature lens
i do often hand focus at the end as the depth of field isn't great. you want the eyes of birds etc to be sharp , and I can end up with the tail etc in focus and the eyes soft if you do automatic focus
with this in mind it is awesome and I've also taken a number of birds on the wing that have come out great
love it with the E3
am considering the 50-200 now that the price is coming down just for the low light in the woods type shots
excellent highly recommended
also I use it almost exclusively handheld with the E3 and often full telephoto- no problem!!
oh and did I mention the price?
70-300 yes!
PS also Amazon is great to deal with- i ordered direct
