| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Impressively high megapixel counts enable the COOLPIX L10 to capture images with captivating color and outstanding detail. Such capability also means images can be considerably enlarged, yet still look absolutely stunning.Accurately measuring available light, the L10 automatically selects the best sensitivity setting. And with impressive sensitivity range up to ISO 800, it makes it easy to take great looking pictures in low light conditions.Compatibility with AA-size batteries, which are widely available around the world, means users can go on shooting virtually anywhere without worrying about recharging or running out of power.

For an amateur (like me) GREAT September 18, 2008 I bought the L10 in Panama several weeks ago. My old camera was stolen earlier, and cameras are very expensive in Costa Rica where I live now. I paid $100.00 which was a little above the Amazon price.
I slapped a 2 gig memory card in it and started taking pictures. I never read the instructions or fooled around with the settings. (The salesperson set it on automatic for me.)I have a USB card reader for my computer and downloading the pictures is a snap.
Since then I lent it to my housekeeper for a child's birthday party. She took pictures with it and she let the little kids take pictures.
Bottom line--there haven't been any bad pictures yet from an amateur's viewpoint. I know that it is not adequate for professions, but if my kind use is the kind of use you make of a camera--I highly recommend it. And my star rating is for this kind of use.
Nice simple camera August 3, 2008 Bought this for Christmas and have been very pleased since. Simple functionality for taking pictures. Takes clear decent pictures with very few shaky images. The best part is the low usage on batteries (use rechargable). Had a Panasonic that sucked batteries dry before. In the end, this camera is perfect for quick picts.
Impressed with the pictures, dissapointed with the video quality July 10, 2008 This camera is a very good option for newbies or for people who going to buy their first digital camera with a low budget. Excellent pictures, super strong flash that iluminates everything. Im very dissapointed with the AVI video quality with I was specting better. But for the price of the camera, cant be better than it is.
I love the autofocus, this is a very intelligent function in this camera because you can take better quality pictures.
Other negative thing is that when to take pictures without flash, the 75% of the pictures you take , will came blur.
If you need buy a cheap camera that takes high quality pictures, do not hesitate to buy it. But do not use it to record videos, you will get dissapointed like me.
easy to use May 31, 2008 Great little camera. takes great pics and easy to use for my mother who doesn't like to deal with complicated machines. Gave her some basic instructions and she was off and shooting.
bad camera May 21, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this camera when my Canon S3 IS was stolen and I needed a replacement immediately. I did a little research and I got impressed by the price of this Nikon camera. I had a good experience with Nikon before so I thought I was getting a good camera. However, I got very very desappointed with this Nikon L10. Almost all the pictures taken indoors are bad, changing features does not help. Outdoor pictures are better but when there is good light, not cloudy or rainy. I found the zoom useless, because the camera finds trouble focusing when the zoom is in. When being in events where everybody has different cameras, I have found that mine takes the worst pictures. Pictures with flash, very slow. The macro feature is useless too. It is more like a toy.
What I suggest is that if you are looking for something cheap as this camera, don't expect good quality. It is good for people that know nothing about digital cameras because they won't find any problems. The size is good and very light weight, it fits into a pocket.
I gave 2 stars to Nikon CoolPix L10 because it has been better for me to have it than not having a camera at all, it has been useful for not very important events but I honestly do not recommend this camera for advance photographers.
I ended getting a new Canon again. Canon is irreplaceable.
