Product Description Perfect for photojournalists, the SlingShot 300 AW uses a unique sling design to go from "carry mode" to "ready mode" in just seconds. Carried comfortably on the back, it easily rotates to the front so you can get to your camera quickly. The SlingShot 300 AW holds a Pro SLR with zoom lens attached 5-6 extra lenses, cables and accessories and has a full access lid to make loading it a snap. This feature-rich bag also includes a built-in memory card pouch, micro fiber LCD cloth and two generous organizer pockets. It's certain to surprise even the most demanding photojournalists.

Lowepro 200 All Weather Backpack August 20, 2008 This bag serves the purpose for which I purchased it - to corral all my camera gear in one place. That being said, it IS large - but I'm keeping three lenses, a DSLR body, a point and shoot camera, batteries, chargers, cleaning kit and manuals in it. And it all fits, with room to spare.
For short jaunts, it is quite comfortable to wear. For longer hikes, it needs to ride close to the body, which makes the process of sliding the case around to get to the camera on top, awkward. When I leave it looser, my mid back starts to ache. The construction quality appears good and seems to offer reasonable protection to the contents.
Great bag, only one minor complaint... August 16, 2008 Excellent bag. Love being able to take my camera out on the fly. The only issue I have with it has to do with the stiffness (or lack thereof) of the separators.
When I swing the bag around from my back and unzip the easy-access compartment, the camera is always leaning heavily toward the right side (when ideally it should be centered beneath the opening). This is due to gravity's effect on its position while the backpack is vertical. The weight of my camera + 24-70mm L has a tendency to scrunch the divider so that when I reach in to take it out I have to sort of crane my right hand under the opening to get at the grip. It's just uncomfortable enough to be slightly annoying.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried shifting the position of the divider in about every way imaginable and putting a variety of lenses in the adjacent compartment to try support the weight, but nothing seems to work.
Again, only a slight complaint, but a complaint nonetheless. Other than that, I highly recommend it. Well worth the money.
The gear I take in this bag when I travel:
-Canon 5D -Canon 24-70mm L (mounted) -Canon 17-40mm L -Canon 135mm L -580EX flash (in top compartment)
All of the above fits comfortably in the 200 AW. The strap is well-designed and distributes the weight nicely. Were it not for the minor issue noted above re camera positioning I would've given it five stars without hesitation.
Great Bag! August 14, 2008 Love how you can just flip it around and open it up and go. It is very easy to get into and get the shot without taking off your pack and going through it...would recommend!
Lowepro-200 review August 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the first pro camera bag that I have purchased. I have had it for about a month. I find that it is very nice, well built and thought out with good zippers and a build in rain cover which I needed today.
My D80 with a 18-200mm lens with the hood fits just right and I am able to carry two other len's plus my SB-800 flash and battery charger and still have room left over for additional batteries, filters, pen, lens pencil. small penlight, small notebook. Also has nice pockets for additonal 2G disk, business cards, and other misc items.
Nice Bag and it swings from the back to the front easly and quickly. I was pleased to find that it also fit me as I am a big guy, 6-1 325# and most sling bags won't fit me. This one did.
exceptional value August 5, 2008 this pack easily holds a charger, canon 40d, 18-135 mm lens , extra cords, filters, cleaning kit, memory cards ,and card reader. great value
