4 out of 5 stars Easy to use - but adhesive doesn't stand up to heat   October 2, 2006

This is one part of a car mount set up. This part (3292) mounts to the window of your car. An additional part, the head (I have the 484RC2 atached to mine) connects to the window pod and also connects to your camera.

Living in Houston and keeping the setup in my glove box (obviously it is for a car, so I keep it there) has taken it's toll. There is a nice rubber pad on one side and an opposing clamping screw (also covered with a small rubber pad) on the other that come together to clamp onto the window. The rubber pads are there to protect the glass, keep it from slipping, and potentially could help reduce some vibration.

The heat has caused the adhesive to break down so that the large rubber pad will not stay attached to the window pod without keeping the clamping screw fully screwed in to hold it in place.

That is the only negative. This works quite well and I have even had some great night shots with this, as long as I don't move while I'm in the car and don't leave the engine running.
