Simply put - this book explains Sonar December 2, 2008 I got this book after I got hold of Sonar 7 Producer (yes, I should have gotten the book for version 7, but this one helped immensely as well!). I had been a Pro-Tools user in the studio and had no experience with Sonar. It's sort of like having to work with Windows when all you know is Mac. So, I was very frustrated. Sonar 6 Power helped me get accustomed to the new format with ease. Scott has a real knack for explaining the functionality of this DAW so that I was excited about learning it. With this book and a little hands-on tinkering, I was up and running and now I can use Sonar like Cakewalk meant it to be used.
Sonar Power Books November 4, 2008 The "power" books by Scott Garrigus are worth their weight in gold. They offer easy to follow instruction and intuitve enough for the amateur recording engineer in his or her own bedroom studio. Also, they are aimed at all levels of expertise with helpful anecdotes and time saving shortcuts for pros as well. They saved me months of frustration. Thanks Scott.

Not as good as the first ones... October 10, 2008 I've always been a Sonar fan and had every book Scott wrote related to Cakewalk. This will be my last one. It's a cheap paperback and several chapters are missing available only via a download.
The material is still well written though. It's also a good tool to have for Sonar. I think due to the cheap quality of the material the price is overkill. Just my opinion.
A Must Have June 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book saved me so much grief. The Sonar manual is just O.K. Scott's book fills in all the minute details in a simple, easy to read reference.

I always like the way Scott Garrigus presents his information and how he covers what Sonar missed and this book is no exception. I keep it close by when working in Sonar and even thumb through it when sitting in the living room. Excellent buy!
