4 out of 5 stars Better than the strap that came with the camera.   September 6, 2010

Now that I've had the opportunity to use this strap on a kayaking trip I can say it definately works. It is a nice looking strap and fits me well, but I'm a big guy. On my wife it is definately loose, but it floats so being a little loose is no big deal. My only concern is that the cord that loops into the camera does not appear to be stronger or of better material than the original strap. The original strap after two years broke on a snorkeling trip, fortunately I noticed it and did not drop the camera.

5 out of 5 stars It's a floater.   August 15, 2010

Got a new Kodak Playsport and since I planned to use it while out on the Jet Ski's, wanted a little loss prevention. As soon as I received the wrist strap, I filled the kitchen trash can with water and tested it out. With the camera attached, strap stayed mostly above the water line, enough that I would not have trouble retrieving it. Worth the money to me.

4 out of 5 stars Looks pretty excellent - except . . .   August 8, 2010

I have to start this review by saying that the vendor (Beach Camera) was outstanding!!!! I can't believe how quickly the item traveled across the country! And with free shipping, this is cheap insurance for my camera since I often use it in and around water.

As for the wrist strap itself - it looks to be well made and I like the visibility it has in the water. I think it will do the job, but, one caution - I have small hands and wrists and this strap cannot adjust small enough to prevent it from easily slipping off my wrist. I got creative and have a modified fix, but if I were using it while snorkeling or in white water, I would still attach a safety cord to it. Also, the little clippy thing that is supposed to allow you to release the camera from the wrist strap easily, is very stiff; I haven't been able to get it to release yet. I'm guessing I will eventually find a way to release it and will be able to soften it up a bit.

All that said, I would definitely buy from Beach Camera again, and, even given the short-comings of the product, would likely, all things considered, choose this product over other similar products.

5 out of 5 stars Effective and attractive   August 5, 2010

This product does what it claims. I own a Sony TX5 waterproof camera (love that too) and I feel safe using it kayaking. However, I have small wrists and wish it tightened down just a bit more. BEWARE using sunscreen and bug spray: I ended up with a colorful "tattoo" from the paint wearing off the inside of the float strap onto my arm. I was using spray on Coppertone and Deet bug spray. Must be a toxic combo for this product.

5 out of 5 stars BEST FLOATING STRAP OUT THERE!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.   August 4, 2010

I loved this strap! I had such a bad experience with the Zeikos floating strap. In fact, I wrote a very helpful review on it...be sure to read it before deciding on a strap for your camera. Hopefully, you will choose the Olympus strap instead. I chose the Zeikos..twice, and it defected on me...twice. You do get what you paid for and even though the Olympus was only a few bucks more, it was well worth it. It does what you expect it to...floats, holds firm, keeps your camera safe, plus I liked the cute design. The only problem...lol...all my guy friends would like to throw it around the pool just to see it bob and have fun with it. This is definitely the best floaty strap out there! A good buy!
