A great product -- but I am not sure what I got November 15, 2008

I ordered my Extreme III 8.0GB CF Card from Amazon.com. I just about never have issues with Amazon, and I buy a lot of retail items from them. This sale was an anomaly. The card was not in a standard SanDisk box, and I think it was used. There was nothing on the Amazon website that told me I was getting something used or returned or whatnot. This is not what I look for from Amazon.
The card itself is marvelous. It features a fast write-speed, and 8GB is a huge amount of storage. I generally shoot Nikon digital photographs using RAW format, which means that my files are about 7.5MB per photo. Nonetheless, this card will hold 480 shots of this kind. CF cards have come a long way in a short time!
This is a great card, and I am sure that I will buy several more. But next time I am going to have to be more careful where I buy them. I don't like buying used items. Period.
still good November 10, 2008
I was very unsure about this after I received it in the mail. It was not in a retail package....... Anyway I've had it for about 3 months now and it has worked with out any issues. Go ahead buy it.
 Fast, Accurate, Works October 15, 2008
I bought 4 Extreme III 8gb cards for my Nikon D300. While not technically as fast as the Extreme IV, the substantial price difference is well worth it to me. Download speed to the computer is quick and I have not experienced any problems with image storage or transfer. Good reliable product.
Excellent purchase September 24, 2008
I recieved the memory chip in a brown bag as the reviews had said and it was shipped to me very fast, faster than promised. The memory card works very well and for the $20 savings is worth buying.

I own a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT 8 MP (Fabulous Digital SLR camera by the way)I needed a bigger memory card as my 2-GB wasn't cutting it on vacations any more [my wife loves to take pictures]. After lots of research and reading I settled on the Extreme III 8 GB (as it is fast enough for almost ANY photographer and is quite a bit cheaper than the extreme IV). I Ordered the EU Retail Package VS. the regular retail package because it was 20-bucks cheaper. The card came in a brown paper envelope in a small card holder case...nothing else, but it certainly appeared brand new. I placed the card in the camera and formatted it before I did anything. The card works perfectly and is lighting fast. It is a noticeable improvement (speed wise) from my old card and can certainly "keep up" with the read/write speed of the camera (I shoot all my pics as JPEG on the highest quality setting and each image averages about 3.5 megabytes) I was able to shoot continuous for what seemed like at least a minute or two and then I stopped to see how long it would take the card to finish writing...just a few seconds. I saved 20-bucks on the card by buying the EU Package. Excellent card and received it fast! Saving 20-bucks on the same product...no brainer! :) Others have cautioned about purchasing from Amazon "store fronts" however I have never had an issue and Amazon stands behind all thir retailers and does not abandon you like some other e-tailers and services do! THANKS AMAZON for delivering great products at great prices!
