Excellent and practical handbook for the advanced amateur. December 29, 2008 This is a God -sent handbook for anyone who has used SLR cameras with old-fashion films, and who now is moving over to digital SLR. Right, this particular book is for the Canon 400D, which is not the newest on the shelves, but I bought my 400D second hand and was determent to get the maximum out of my purchase.
The book gives very good, and easy to follow step-by-step guidance on how to master the different techniques required securing the best results while photographing out in the nature, taking close-ups, sports and more.
Even if you are quite new to photographing, this book will be a great help, as it is written in plain English, and does not use technical terms that so often leaves the beginner feeling stupid.
I strongly recommend this book.

great photo ideas December 14, 2008 I bought this book for our daughter after she bought the Canon Rebel XTi camera. She is currently taking a photography course, and has found it very helpful in determining setting for taking really cool pictures. It has really stimulated her creativity!
Excellet Book November 11, 2008 I purchased this book on 10th Nov 08. Before buying this book I also purchased a guide for Canon Rebel XTI by David D. Busch. Since I have two books from different authors, I can compare it better. I feel this book is much better and meets my expectations. I gone through varous books but no books tells you what do you mean by AV, TV etc modes, when users should use that? and what is the effects of using that. This is best book and will recommned to others.
An indepensible guide for the Amature/Enthusiest Photographer November 2, 2008 This guide is what should be packaged with the digital rebel. It is extremely informative. I have learned so much for this manual, I take it with me wherever my camera goes. Photography is an art, and this book guides you to becoming the artist.
Disappointed October 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The book itself is so-so, but the illustration samples are just terrible, like if they were taken by a 6-year old kid. This excellent camera deserves a better and more thorough publication.
Save your money and look somewhere elese.
