Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
Easy Digital Photography teaches beginners and casual PC users all about digital cameras, scanners, and image editors, offering explanations of the technology and features to look for when you're ready to buy. The first part of the book concentrates on how digital cameras work, which cameras are worth considering to buy--such as current Canon, Kodak, and Olympus offerings--and how you can take the best pictures possible with your new camera.

The second part of the book focuses on scanners and provides very good definitions of bit-depth, resolution, and other terms, along with a delineation of the various types of scanners and the popular scanners on the market. The chapter on scanning tips is outstanding and covers scanner setup, high-quality scans and resolution tips, and creative tips, such as scanning in tin foil and other household items for cool effects.

The third part of the book is about image editors and discusses how to use Arcsoft's PhotoStudio, MGI PhotoSuite, Live Picture's LivePix, and Microsoft PictureIt!. The appendices explain how to store your pictures on disk or on the Web when you get them developed, how to purchase and download pictures from the Web, and how to use video-capture software. There's also a glossary of computing and photography terms and a CD-ROM, which includes sample images and demo versions of PhotoStudio, PhotoSuite, and other products. Easy Digital Photography is for users of Windows 3.x and later.

this book covers three areas in a novice fashion ditigal cameras, scanners and image software/ it is in simple language in a general manner. The information contained in the book was for the beginner(not very tech)yet it is pricey.

1 out of 5 stars Too easy!   February 10, 1999

This book is a very basic guide. The material on cameras and scanners is outdated. Rather than explaining concepts, the author tries to cover 4 different editing programs. This is a very superficial book. It is suitable for lazy beginers.
