Product Description
Capturing the beauty of pregnancy through photographs is an increasingly popular trend, and this timely guide covers the basics of maternity photography from both artistic and business standpoints. The details of creating a successful maternity portrait are addressed, including how to select a meaningful location, what props and fabrics to use, how to pose the subject, and how to produce a flattering lighting scheme. Helpful digital effects that can enhance skin tone and impart a wide variety of polished and artistic effects are discussed, as are tactics for incorporating other family members in the portrait. Also included are tips for building a strong connection with the subject that can lead to a profitable, lifelong client relationship.

3 out of 5 stars Nice book   November 9, 2008
I thought the book will deal with photography itself, and how to take pictures and bring more good tips on studio photography , but that only a small portion of the book. The book deals mostly in marketing, it's nice but not what I was looking for

This is a very good book that covers the topic of pregnancy photography. The book is richly illustrated with creative maternity images. What I especially liked the integration of the Fathers and siblings in many of the images.

Jennifer George's ART OF PREGNANCY PHOTOGRAPHY tells how to capture the pregnancy experience at all stages, showing how to photograph the mother-to-be either alone or with her partner, or with the whole family. Techniques and insights on poses and positions accompany tips for retouching, enhancing lighting and color, and interviews with pregnancy portrait photographers.

4 out of 5 stars Lovely Book   April 17, 2008
This is a wonderful book to cover the business and Art of maternity portraits especially if you are newer to that type of photography. The posing is lovely her detail on the subject is extremly helpful. Great Job!

5 out of 5 stars A definate inspiration and practical guide all in one   March 25, 2008

This is one of the best "How To" photography books I have read. I found it practical in every aspect of how to approach the many aspects of maternity photography. This can be a touchy subject at times for a male photographer and Jennifer has inspired and helped to convince me to continue with this type of work. So this book helps on many levels with beautiful examples of her work throughout. She has many unique original compositional ideas and use of light with great fabrics and simple props. I highly recommend this book.
