Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Welcome information   May 28, 2002
Having grown up on Instamatics, Discs, and the like, I yearned for a "real" camera. I received a Nikon Nikkormat for Christmas and was suddenly struck with my lack of knowledge. Luckily, I came across this book on Amazon and ordered it immediately.

It's a bit pricey, since only a small section (app. 20 pages) pertains to my particular model, but priceless in terms of my now knowing how to operate my camera efficiently. A welcome addition to my library.

5 out of 5 stars A must for collectors or "classic" photographers   December 16, 1999

I dunno, some folks just have to "dis" every Magic Lantern book that comes out - this one is great for anyone who has or plans to find an older Nikon. I recently got a FG as a "bargin", when I got out this book I found out everything the dealer didn't know! I also used this book to "fix" the self-timer on a F2. Do not buy or use any of these Nikons until you read this book - it can save you time & $$$. Moose, I've got a beer with your name on it!

3 out of 5 stars It's ok...not enough information.   October 20, 1999

This is a good basic reference, but not something that would replace the owner's manual, and the book states. This particular book does not cover all of the finders in enough detail to be of any real assistance.

5 out of 5 stars A concise description of 6 classic Nikon cameras.   November 6, 1998

B. Moose Peterson has written a technical but clear summary of the features of 6 older Nikon cameras. In addition to descriptions of the F2, FM, EM, FG, N2000, and N2020 models, he has included complete instructions on the operation of each respective model. Although obviously a fan of Nikons, the author has conveyed an objective summary of the various models. An excellent reference book for collectors or first time buyers of one of these cameras who needs a "how to" manual. Illustrated with sharp photos of each model.
